  1. New sustainable and smart e-commerce solutions

As a part of the development and growth of e-commerce, Instore Agency has updated the range of various sustainable e-commerce solutions. Now, for example, there are paper bags customized for e-commerce that directly replace the traditional plastic bags. Of course, the plastic bags remain as a durable and good packaging alternative, but we favour recycled and bio-based materials. This is because we want to contribute to sustainable development in this line of business and in the long term minimize the use of non-renewable raw materials.

When it comes to boxes, Instore Agency can offer everything from various standard solutions to fully customized boxes that present the product and protect it in the best way. The customization and our long experience of creative solutions makes Instore Agency an excellent partner when it´s time to develop new packaging for brand new products.

The packaging and unboxing experience is today a very important part of the final customer experience. The fact that the product appears complete and nicely presented is a decisive factor for the customer to order again, and to recommend the company to friends. Another important part of the choice of packaging is a simple and easy return solution.

Does this sound interesting? Contact us and we will present a perfect solution based on your wishes and needs.

  2. Peak Performance chooses biodegradable mannequins in PLA

With PLA, a new era has begun in the line of business. Instead of continuing to manufacture plastics and material from oil, the focus has shifted towards renewable raw materials. With biomaterials such as PLA, carbon dioxide emissions are significantly reduced, not at least because plants absorb carbon dioxide as they grow. Peak Performance has an enunciated focus on sustainability and therefore the choice of materials was easy.

    Short facts PLA

    • PLA is made from biomaterials such as starch from either corn or sugar beets
    • PLA can be reused as bioplastics
    • PLA can be composted in industrial plants
    • PLA can advantageously be incinerated for energy recovery as it doesn´t emit any toxins

    The production

Instead of using expensive molds, the mannequins are made by printing through a special 3D printer. As a company you can choose between two different types of mannequins.

1.) “Raw-printed” mannequins without after-treatment. They consist of 100% biomaterial and are 100% biodegradable. These mannequins have visible print lines.

2.) Postprocessed mannequins where the print lines are hidden by filling and paint. They will then be as smooth and fine as regular fiberglass mannequins but are an environmentally better alternative since the main part consists of biomaterials.

    Durable in dual sense

Good to know is that all PLA mannequins have the same strength and durability as fiberglass. They will have a long life in the store. And as mentioned before, the corn that Instore Agency’s PLA is made from has absorbed carbon dioxide during the time it has grown in the fields. We at Instore Agency hope that Peak Performance is as satisfied as we are about the new nice mannequins.

  3. Me & I is investing in durability with recycled materials

    – Our collaboration with Me & I started a few years ago when we were asked if we could develop sustainable environmentally friendly products, says Emre Vatansever, Key account manager at Instore Agency. Me & I has a strong sustainability profile and it was important for them that we could adapt to it. That was no problem as we are passionate about these issues ourselves.

Some of requirements was to work with recycled materials, that the products would be locally produced and that the lead times would be short. Today, Instore Agency delivers plastic hangers to Me & I consisting of at least 86% recycled material and e-commerce bags made of at least 50% recycled material. In addition, Me & I has chosen to make their shopping bag a multi-purpose bag that customers can use over and over again.

These changes and improvements have been very well received. It is also an example of how a close  collaboration lifts both customer and supplier, and leads to more sustainable fashion sales.

  4. Hanger renovation (Reduce, ReUse, Repair, Recycle)

When clothes produced around the world are sold in stores, the hanger, often produced together with the garment, remains. That is why we work with our clothing chains customers to ensure that the hangers are returned in a circular system in order to be reused or recycled.

Many hangers can be reused in stores over and over again. But since the requirements for the hangers in our customers’ logistics chains or central warehouses are higher than in the stores, not all returned hangers can meet the requirements for reuse. Most often this is because the hooks of the recycled hangers are not enough fixed to meet the requirements of the textile industry’s transport- and conveyor belt system.

At Instore Agency we have developed a unique system for renovating hangers so that the hook is fixed again and the recycled hangers can be used again in our customers’ logistics chain, just as if the hangers were new. This development exists thanks to a close collaboration between Instore Agency and KappAhl and has resulted in a process that saves both the environment and the economy.

Does this collaboration sound interesting? You are welcome to us to discuss which solutions we can develop together with you for a better world.

  6. Recycling of hangers,
    our circular economy

Extremely few of all plastic hangers are burned or end up in garbage. At Instore Agency, our goal is to recycle as many of our hangers as possible so that the environment is not burdened. Among other things, we have a collaboration with KappAhl where hangers manufactured around the world are returned to our factory in Lidköping. This is how it goes:

    • The hangers are mostly sorted in stores and used again and again. If there is a surplus of hangers in either the store or the warehouse, they are returned to us.
    • Returned hangers are sorted for quality assurance and then shipped back into the supply chain for reuse. For example, they may be used in textile industries anywhere in the world or at central warehouses where some garments are hung and prepared for store presentation. In the industry, we call this “return to source”.
    • Broken hangers that are returned and fail to meet the quality assurance can be repaired for reuse. Then we ensure that the hook is fixed properly and that the hanger meets the requirements so that it can be used in the textile industry’s transport and conveyor system.
    • If the hangers are too broken to be repaired, they are recycled. The plastic is then grinded and used in the production of new hangers, while metal hooks and clips are sent to metal recycling. In Lidköping we also have developed a unique recycling process that minimizes the energy consumption.

When you buy hangers from Instore Agency, your business can become part of our work with the environment and sustainability. It is good to know both for you and your customers. Together we take responsibility for the environment and contribute to a better world.

  7. Made in a green hanger factory

The work on sustainability and to reduce our ecological footprints is taking place with undiminished effect in our factory in Lidköping. We have three focus areas where we constantly set new goals to become even better.

    1.) 100% green electricity

All electricity used in the production comes from hydropower. We also continuously invest in energy saving equipment. We have compressors and heating systems that exchange energy with our watercooling system. We have modern cooling machines that can take advantage of the cold winter climate in Sweden in order to use the strongest environmental benefits Swedish industry can offer.

    2.) 100% recycled plastic

For most of the hangers we produce, we use 100% recycled plastic that comes from a circular recycling system in collaboration with fashion chains such as H&M and KappAhl. The recycled plastic does not itself generate carbon dioxide emissions and in Lidköping we have developed a recycling process that minimizes energy consumption. So the result is a recycled plastic material that generates less carbon dioxide impact than all other non-fossil alternatives, even compared with paper hangers.

-We are convinced that we have a solution to the plastic issue. By recycling plastic, we remove the scrap problems and we use no further new oil.

    1. No waste

It is not just the plastic that is recycled but all the remaining material from the production. This goes for example for paper, plastic packaging, metals and left-over oil. We have not reached all the way with our waste yet but we are working towards our goal to recycle everything.

  8. Mini Rodini chose Instore Agency hangers

The Swedish children’s clothing brand Mini Rodini is a great success story. The company has over 500 retailers worldwide. They also have their own shops in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and London. Sustainability is one of the most important topics for Mini Rodini. Therefore, they have chosen hangers from Instore Agency in  FSC® -C130119 certified wood.

Illustrator and artist Cassandra Rhodin started Mini Rodini 2006. Ever since the start, the production method has been important for the company. The clothes are of high quality and are manufactured in a gentle way both for the environment and for the humans. Therefore, it was obvious that the hangers also should be sustainably manufactured.

Instore Agency has worked with the environment and sustainability for a long time, for example with FSC®. Therefore, we contacted Mini Rodini and presented our company and things we can offer. Their choice was hangers in beech wood, more specifically FSC® certified beech. FSC® stands for Forest Stewardship Council. It is an independent and international member organization that works for ecofriendly forestry. It includes both social responsibilities and economically viable use. The certificate they issue means that the wood comes from a responsible forestry and that it is traceable.

Today, Instore Agency manages the storage of hangers for Mini Rodini. For a smooth handling, they have their own portal on our website. Mini Rodini stores can, at any time, order hangers from our warehouse in Lidköping.

  10. Update of best seller KTT43

Instore Agency’s most popular top hanger KTT43 has got a new design and become even better. Small and smart solutions have made the hanger even more practical and long lasting.

There are some models that stand out in our range and KTT43 is the most popular hanger among top hangers. Now it will make everyday life even easier for employees in stores. So what is new about the design?

    • Larger and wider opening of top-notch, which is also slightly angled upwards. This means that the shoulder straps automatically slide into the correct position and that the hanger becomes easier to handle.
    • Top-notch has also been moved further up the shoulders to make dresses and tank tops displayed as good as possible. This also means that KTT43 can replace old horn hangers. Two models in one!
    • The hanger has become stronger. The thickness has been strengthened and the width has increased from 10 to 11 mm. This prolongs the life of the hanger.
    • As before, the hanger can be supplied with the optional non-slip. For an even better grip, the non-slip has also become longer.

KTT43 is ordered quickly and easily in the webshop. Do you have any questions about it? You are most welcome to contact us.
